Lunar was founded in 2020 when Dia Atluri, the founder, discovered that many people were still unaware of problems faced by females. The name Lunar resembles the moon, or nighttime, when most abductions take place as one of the main issues Lunar targets is sex trafficking. The moon has also represented femininity or women throughout history. Multiple organizations in the DFW area are targeting some of these problems such as body issues and sex trafficking, however a lot of vulnerable individuals who usually suffer from these issues are not being taught the basics.
